Fundraising Coordinator coordinates operations to execute an organization's fundraising strategies, campaigns, and capital development initiatives supporting short- and long-term organizational revenue objectives. Supports donor stewardship programs to identify, develop, retain, and nurture a portfolio of individual and institutional donors and corporate or governmental partnerships. Being a Fundraising Coordinator plans events and develops communications to increase donor engagement. Uses a donor database and software tools to produce data-driven measurement and reporting of the progress of fundraising goals. Additionally, Fundraising Coordinator may participate in the grant writing and proposal process. Typically requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a manager.     Position title: Therapy Coordinator
    Department: Medical Records
    Supervisor: Medical Records Supervisor
    Employment Status: Full Time, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. M-F

    Purpose:

    This position is responsible for the office operations for Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy, and Speech Therapy. This position must be able to operate independently and with limited supervision while supporting therapists and therapy operations. It is anticipated that this position will supervise a therapy assistant or translator. This is an hourly, non-exempt position.

    Position Responsibilities:

    • Answer telephones and return messages within 48 hours. Referrals to therapy should be completed within two days.
    • Greet patients and check in patients; ensure an admission agreement is signed and collect patient co-pays.
    • Maintain cash receipts logs and ensure cash receipts are deposited timely.
    • Post payments made at the therapy office to patient accounts in the EMR.
    • Order supplies through PCHD central supply and others as needed. Prepare invoices for payment.
    • Verify patient insurance on admission or by the end of day. Re-verify insurance at the beginning of the month for patients continuing service. Verification of insurance must be noted in the EMR.
    • Create patient admissions in the EMR; ensure new admissions are created every time there is a new therapy order.
    • Work with other PCHD staff for updates to the EMR and templates.
    • Manage the schedule for therapists and update the schedule as changes occur.
    • Complete pre-authorizations for therapy services.
    • Monitor visit caps based on the patient’s insurance requirements; keep therapist informed as to remaining available visits.
    • Scan record into patient charts. This will include the provider referral, therapist evaluation, notice of privacy practices, admission agreements, and other related documents.
    • Assist therapists with charge capture, entry, and corrections. Ensure corrections are communicated timely to the Medical Record Supervisor.
    • Compile monthly statistics for services performed and report them to the Medical Records Supervisor monthly.
    • Participate in quality improvement projects, including coordinating projects for all therapies.
    • Support the reporting of quality and performance data to third parties.
    • Support the development of Policies and Procedures for therapy practices.
    • Represent therapy at meetings as assigned.
    • Other duties as assigned.

    Working Conditions

    • Subject to frequent interruptions in a busy medical practice setting.
    • Involved with other personnel, physicians, patients, and families.
    • Communicates with nursing personnel and other department employees.
    • De-escalate situations with both patients and employees as well as navigate all types of personalities and communication styles productively.
    • Stands, sits, bends, lifts, and walks throughout the facility.

    Qualifications
    Experience, Job Knowledge, and Training:

    • High School Graduate or GED
    • Experience in a medical office setting is desirable.
    • Reliability in work attendance is mandatory to ensure proper coverage of staff for optimal patient care.
    • Proficiency with email and Microsoft Office products. Must be able to learn new technology quickly.
    • Must have good written and verbal communication skills.
    • Must speak, read, and write English language: Competent bilingual English/Spanish preferred.
    • Excellent people skills; enjoy interacting with patients from varied circumstances.
    • Ability to organize and multitask, make decisions, adapt to circumstances, plan, and concentrate in an open setting is required.
    • Exercise a high degree of responsibility in some areas and minor responsibility in other areas.
    • Must become CPR certified and maintain that certification.
