Job Title: Continuous Improvement Specialist
Location: Galliano, Houma or New Orleans, LA (With some travel)

GIS is seeking a highly competent individual capable of analyzing the company’s processes and makes suggestions on how to improve them, working with the Operations and Supply Chain teams in recognizing opportunities, making and implementing changes, and sustaining improvements. This position includes training employees on Lean tools, planning and coordination/leading of Kaizen events, monitoring performance vs. improvement targets, sustaining changes made during events and execution of continuous improvement projects. The position requires the ability to implement and sustain Lean and Process Improvement Initiatives throughout GIS Companies.
Job Duties and Responsibilities
· Effective communication and presentation skills to various audiences.

· Assist in writing Standard Work Instructions and Standard Operating Procedures.
· Organize and coordinate 5S / Kaizen activities, including the planning and execution of Kaizen events/teams.
· Identify opportunities for process improvement, waste removal, and cost reduction.
· Plan, facilitate, and execute continuous improvement events using Lean Six Sigma tools.
· Teach, lead, and coach cross-functional teams on Lean Six Sigma tools and methodology.
· Working to continuously improve processes both on the production floor as well as transactional by collaborating with multiple functions such as logistics, business office etc.
· Conduct process mapping to assess the efficiency and effectiveness of current operations.
· Review existing and new procedures/controls to identify waste and build plans and organize teams to change.
· Act as a mentor for the Continuous Improvement leadership, supervisory staff and front-line personnel.
· Support Quality Control and Quality Assurance Teams as necessary.
· Evaluates all continuous improvement activities and implements plans to optimize performance and processes.
Skills & Qualifications
· Excellent understanding of lean manufacturing principles.
· Support and participate in the lean manufacturing cultural change to drive out waste in the manufacturing and office processes.
· 3 years of Continuous Improvement experience.
· Bachelor’s degree in Manufacturing, Industrial Technology, Engineering or related field.
