WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING:
Performs responsible technical work in the daily administration and operation of the Town’s Geographic Information System (GIS) services.
An employee in this class is responsible for the daily management of Geographic Information System (GIS) components, which includes the collection, verification, analysis, querying, storage, archiving, distribution and maintenance of information related to physical phenomena. Work includes the collection and verification of data; maintaining accurate and current metadata; creating layers, layouts and analyses in response to requests; creating interactive web maps and data; maintaining GIS software; advising Town department users, and working with outside consultants, Town staff, County staff, and neighboring municipal GIS staff to coordinate usages.
This employee works under the supervision of the GIS Administrator and develops GIS-based solutions to respond to various department and Town needs and requests.

Graduation from an accredited college or university with a four-year degree in GIS, geography, planning, or related field and considerable experience with GIS software and in data analysis; or any equivalent combination of education and experience.
