General Laborer performs general manual labor tasks including loading, unloading, lifting, digging, and moving materials. Operates a variety of tools to complete assignments according to internal and external policies and regulations. Being a General Laborer assembles and disassembles machines, tools, and other work-related equipment. Assists engineers and a variety of other functions with manual labor tasks as needed. Additionally, General Laborer may require a high school diploma. Typically reports to a supervisor. The General Laborer works under the close direction of senior personnel in the functional area. Overview
We are looking for a General Laborer to take up manual labor tasks and support operations in worksites.
The General Laborer will perform skilled and unskilled work of average to considerable difficulty in the accomplishment of various tasks and projects. Assist supervisors and foreman; work as a team to have the most successful outcome of a roadway or airport project.
Responsibilities:
- Must be able to always perform Essential Functions confidently and proficiently.
- Able to work on road and airport projects.
- Effectively clean joints with pressure washing behind the sawing operation and with sandblasting and/or compressed air prior to sealing operation.
- Effectively remove old sealant via manual methods from existing joints after the sawing operation and understanding the importance of the removal process on the overall quality of the final product.
- Able to use jackhammer to remove concrete in order to prepare spall repair to accept concrete or alternative fast setting product.
- Know how to mix material properly and pour spall material into spall cavity to meet spall finisher’s mix quality.
Requirements:
- VALID DRIVERS LICENCE
- Clean Criminal record (10 years) due to them being on Military bases and airports
- Must proficiently run and maintain all equipment
