The General Maintenance Worker works under the close direction of senior personnel in the functional area. Possesses a moderate understanding of general aspects of the job. Responsible for performing general maintenance service and repairs as directed by supervision.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Perform minor general maintenance service and repairs throughout the plant in the areas of plumbing, welding, carpentry, painting, plastering, electrical or vehicle servicing as directed.
- Perform preventive maintenance as directed.
- Assemble and/or repair racks. Assemble office furniture and cubicles.
- Operate snowplows, forklifts and lifts, as directed.
- Maintain production standards. Report any production, quality or safety problems to the supervisor immediately.
- Comply with company rules and regulations.
- Maintain confidentiality of company-sensitive data.
- Implement a commitment to quality philosophy and recommend methods and procedures to reduce cost and/or improve operating efficiency of the department.
- Keep the manager/supervisor informed of activities and situations that will impact the achievement of corporate or department goals and objectives.
- Perform other related duties as required to achieve the goals and objectives of the department and company.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
- Trade school plus 1-2 years’ experience in general maintenance service and repairs or equivalent.
- Valid driver’s license

- Ability to operate snowplows
