Project Engineer/ Project Geologist or Environmental Scientist

  • EnSafe is currently accepting applications for an Environmental Project Engineer, Project Geologist, or Environmental Scientist.   Successful candidates will have 5-10 years of experience in the environmental consulting field to help lead our team in our Charleston, SC office.

    What We Are Looking for

    A Project Engineer/ Geologist or Environmental Scientist who is driven to contribute to a wide range of projects ranging from site investigations to regulatory compliance tasks, feasibility studies, and remedial design and/or implementation.     What you will be doing:

    • Assist in the management of DoD projects.
    • Leading technical teams working across multiple offices throughout the country, problem-solving, preparing plans and specifications, and meeting with clients and subcontractors.
    • Draft SAPs and coordinate the scheduling of investigation activities (soil, groundwater, indoor air (VI), soil gas, and stormwater sampling).
    • Projects include implementation of soil and groundwater investigations, in situ/ex-situ groundwater remediation design and implementation; soil remediation system design and implementation; and remediation system operation, maintenance, and optimization.
    • Conducting site investigation activities (sampling of soil, groundwater, surface water, indoor air, vapor intrusion, soil gas, drinking water, and building materials)
    • Provide environmental compliance support to senior regulatory specialists, including data collection for permitting and/or registration, data analysis, regulatory compliance evaluation, and assessment. 
    • Work with staff to prepare proposals and evaluate contractor bids.
    • Provide oversight to teams during field activities and regulatory reporting.
    • Lead development and review of technical documents and reports.
    • Oversee the quality assurance/quality control of deliverables about projects and tasks self-managed, as well as projects and tasks managed by others.
    • Work well with dynamic project teams and mentor junior staff.

     What you’ll need:

    • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Environmental Engineering, Civil, Chemical, Geology, or Environmental Scientist degree.
    • Preferred P.E or P.G. Certification
    • 5-10 Years of experience in environmental engineering.
    • HAZWOPER training and certification.
    • Experience with RCRA and CERCLA processes (RI/FS, RD/RA, ROD) and documentation.
    • Prior environmental investigation and remediation experience. 
    • Understanding of Federal facility policies, procedures, and regulations.
    • Proficiency in Microsoft program products.
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
    • Critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
    • Strong work ethic.
    • Ability to travel to support ongoing environmental projects.
