Government Affairs Manager implements strategic plans and oversees engagement objectives to develop and maintain productive relations with all levels of government authorities that will support and enhance the businesses' goals. Additionally, Government Affairs Manager creates communication vehicles and delivers messaging to inform and support business leaders. The Government Affairs Manager manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets. Has full authority for personnel actions.   • We are looking for a Manager of Food, Safety, Quality and Regulatory Affairs (aka FSQRA) to join our team remotely!

    This is a corporate role supporting assigned plant locations and will require travel to assigned plant locations across the U.S.

    As the Manager of FSQRA, reporting to the Director of FSQRA, you will assist in the development, maintenance, and implementation of Food Safety and Quality Assurance procedures for your assigned facilities: Conagra Manufacturer, Co-Manufacturer, Supplier, and/or Research & Development. You will develop sound food safety and quality programs to meet company and regulatory standards for all of the following areas: food safety, sanitation, operations quality, thermal processing, cannery, labeling, packaging, and/or audit. You will also monitor and identify incomplete or missing requirements as measured against audit criteria for internal facilities.

    What you'll do:
    • Champion a positive food safety culture, take ownership, and empower others to take immediate action on matters concerning food safety.
    • Serves as expert resource for all assigned facilities to drive continuous food safety improvement initiatives.
    • Develop content and deliver training programs for their assigned facilities.
    • Encourage food safety culture best practices at the corporate and facility level.
    • Collaborates and provides mentorship and coaching to QA teams.
    • Conduct quality and food safety audits, individually or as part of a team, at Conagra internal plants.
    • Execute appropriate inspection criteria to determine degree of compliance.
    • Collaborates with other functions to advance awareness and education of food safety and quality.
    • Gathers and studies data to understand trends and issues in providing input to decisions related to product safety and quality in areas of assigned responsibility.
    • Provides technical and decision-making support and/or data analysis in managing situations and issues relative to quality and/or food safety.
    • Knowledge of GFSI Benchmarked Schemes (namely SQF and BRC) along with product categories for requirements for GMP's, Sanitation, Pest Control, Food Safety and HACCP systems, Training, Allergens, and applicable programs/regulations.
    • Assist in confirming Food Safety Plans (HACCP) are current, relevant, and executed effectively to meet Conagra standards, regulatory requirements (FDA and USDA), and prevent adulteration of product.
    • Designs and implements processes and procedures within assigned technical area(s) of responsibility.
    • Participates on cross functional teams to assure effective implementation and adherence of QA initiatives and process improvement of our suppliers, under limited supervision.
    • Interfaces/provides technical support to appropriate levels within functions to assure regulatory compliance, food safety and quality of company products.
    • Maintains effective relationships with packaging material suppliers as needed.
    • Collaborates outside of FSQA organization to drive efficiencies and effectiveness with regards to food safety and quality as necessary.
    • Responsible for understanding and executing against budget for their team.


    What you'll bring:
    • Bachelors Degree or equivalent experience in Food, Biological or Chemical Science or related field.
    • 5 years of food industry experience in QA, Operations or equivalent function required.
    • Previous experience developing and leading teams required.
    • Demonstrated leadership and experience auditing complex manufacturing sites.
    • Leadership in development of auditing tools.
    • High level experience of in food safety and quality regulations and standards (GMP, GFSI [SQF, BRC, other benchmarked scheme], HACCP, SSOP), government regulatory requirements, food safety, food manufacturing processes, technologies or other relevant area of responsibility.
    • Develop and use continuous improvement tools and fundamentals.
    • Familiar with the GFSI audit process including announced/unannounced audit schedules, recall notification process for audit scheme and certifying body, and appeals process.
    • Exceptional technical report writing skills and communication skills both written and verbal.
    • Create and maintain strong relationships with key internal and external customers.
    • Troubleshooting, data analysis, and investigative skills required.
    • Understanding of financial budgets and principles.
    • Depending on the needs of the business, operational impact at the plant level may require 30-70% travel. Must be able to travel independently and as a responsible Conagra representative.


    Physical Requirements:
    • Ability to sit, walk and/or stand for up to 8 hours
    • Climbing to various heights via stairs or ladders on a regular basis
    • Pushing/pulling various plant materials and/or equipment
    • Will maneuver in cramped/confined spaces
    • Exposure to manufacturing environments for up to 8 hours per workday including loud noise, excessive heat, cold, wet, slippery conditions, dirt, fumes, smoke, smells and all food allergens
    • Frequent bending and/or crawling; must be able to move safely and freely around machinery
    • Driving a company or rental vehicle for up to 8 hours if needed


    We require applicants for this role to be legally authorized to work in the United States without requiring employer sponsorship either now or in the future.

    Compensation:
    Annual Base Salary: $100,000.00 - $147,000.00

    The annual salary listed above is the expected offering for this position. An employee's actual annual salary will be based on but not limited to: location, relevant experience/level and skillset, while balancing internal Conagra employees' equity. Conagra Brands will comply with applicable law regarding minimum salaries for exempt employees.
