TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: 10 month plus position, mid-August to the end of June. Benefits in line with non-union staff, average 40 hours per week. Variable hours with game coverage and the needs of the department.
JOB DESCRIPTION:
Institute and maintain a comprehensive and effective athletic training program for Lexington High School’s interscholastic athletic program. This includes but is not limited to, in season and out of season strength & conditioning consultation with coaches, athletic injury prevention and treatment, injury rehabilitation (under the direction of and in consultation with school physician or personal physician). Additional responsibilities include concussion baseline screening, home game athletic training coverage and scheduling of coverage, and supervision of all concussion return to play protocol.

The athletic trainer will collaborate with the Athletic Director and Assistant Trainers to determine a weekly schedule that works to meet the needs of all student-athletes and coaches at Lexington High School. Weekly schedules will vary according to the athletic season, but will always include school vacation weeks, weeknights and weekends. The Lexington High School Head Athletic Trainer will be expected to report to school on a daily basis in preparation to meet with coaches and treat student-athletes when school is dismissed and remain on campus until the last practice and/or game is completed.
