Head Cataloging Librarian develops cataloging policies and procedures and implements improvement. Manages staff and student assistants in all formats cataloging following updated workflows. Being a Head Cataloging Librarian creates metadata schema to ensure efficient workflow for metadata projects. Typically requires a master's degree. Additionally, Head Cataloging Librarian typically reports to top management. The Head Cataloging Librarian manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets. Has full authority for personnel actions. To be a Head Cataloging Librarian typically requires 5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. 1 - 3 years supervisory experience may be required. Hruska Public Library Children’s Librarian
This is a part-time position with 20 hours a week, including every other Saturday morning. The primary responsibility of this position is the coordination and the implementation of the Library’s services for children, preschool through young adult, but work at the circulation desk is also required.
Permanent part-time benefits are available with this position, which include vacation, sick leave, holiday pay, and retirement.
