    Boeing is seeking a Chemical Technology Technical Analyst (Level 3) to join our Chemical Technology Team to support programs in our North Charleston, South Carolina location. This role will be focused on supporting the development, demonstration and transition of innovative technologies. The candidate will be working with sealants, tankline processes, composites, and paints/coatings. The successful candidate will be energetic; driven; handy in the lab; able to work under general supervision with no instructions for routine work; and able to work special projects with minimal instruction.

    ** Note: there may be up to 10% travel and daily schedule variations (start and end times) and this position does require the use of respirators.


    Position Responsibilities:

    • Assist in analysis and qualification of materials, processes and equipment by conducting routine laboratory tests and documenting findings in accordance with specifications and customer requirements (testing could involve applying sealants and/or coatings, prepping panels with tankline processes, and/or preparing composite substrates).
    • Assist in developing and revising documents, technical requirements, and test methods
    • Support continuous improvement efforts by assisting with the design, fabrication, and testing of new concepts and technology
    • Gather data by monitoring installation and production implementation of equipment, materials, software, and processes
    • Coordinate and perform general lab/business administrative responsibilities (ordering supplies, 5S and safety reviews/improvements, coordinating calibration/maintenance/repairs/waste disposal, etc.)


    This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options.


    This position must meet Export Control compliance requirements, therefore a “U.S. Person” as defined by 22 C.F.R. § 120.15 is required. “U.S. Person” includes U.S. Citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee.


    Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

    • 2 years of experience at least one of the following: sealants, tankline processing, composites, or paints/coatings
    • Experience working in a lab and/or production environment
    • Experience working with parts, assemblies, and/or test coupons (experience may include applying sealants, processing parts in a tankline, laying up composite parts, or applying paints/coatings)


    Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

    • Experience in one or many of the following specialties: Aerospace or Automotive Sealant or Paint Application, Inorganic Chemical Processes, Environmental Health and Safety, Sealants, Paints & Coatings, and/or Analytics
    • Experience with hands-on chemical or materials experience
    • Excellent communication skills (oral and written)
    • Experience performing applications of sealants or finishes, particularly for commercial or military aircraft


    Typical Education/Experience:

    Education/experience typically acquired through advanced education (e.g. Associate) and typically 3 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience (e.g. Bachelor 1 years' related work experience, 5 years' related work experience, etc.).
