Help Desk Supervisor supervises the staff and the day-to-day operations of an organization's technical help desk. Supports and coaches team members on effective methods to research, troubleshoot, and deliver solutions. Being a Help Desk Supervisor trains the team on the help desk systems, processes, tools, and procedures required to document, track, and resolve reported problems and to meet operational service levels and standards. Ensures the latest product/technical updates and policies are available and communicated to the team. Additionally, Help Desk Supervisor monitors request queue and tracks key metrics to ensure sufficient coverage and achievement of service standards. Identifies system and workflow improvements to enhance the team's efficiency. Acts as the escalation point for critical issues and facilitates a final resolution. May require a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a manager. The Help Desk Supervisor supervises a small group of para-professional staff in an organization characterized by highly transactional or repetitive processes. Contributes to the development of processes and procedures. To be a Help Desk Supervisor typically requires 3 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor.   • Position Summary:
    The Help Desk Supervisor will oversee the day-to-day operations of the CMC Help Desk Analysts and ensure that end users are receiving the appropriate assistance; This includes the responsibility of managing all procedures related to the identification, prioritization, and resolution of end user help requests, including the monitoring, tracking, and coordination of Help Desk functions.   
     
    Qualifications:

    Education:

    • High school diploma required.

    Experience

    • A minimum of 2 years’ experience with installation, configuration, administration, and supporting Microsoft products such as Windows, and Office required.
    • Experience in HealthCare Information Systems environment.
    • Excellent knowledge of the internal functions of end user computing including physical endpoint and VDI required.
    • 2 years supervisory experience preferred.
    • Knowledge of leadership, creativity, teaching, education, and group dynamics preferred.
    • Knowledge of program development and administration preferred.

    • None

    Duties & Responsibilities:

    • Aids the IS department and its analysts, but also directly supports end users by handling escalations, resolving user issues, and monitoring the performance of business-critical systems to prevent delays and outages and quickly resolve ongoing issues.
    • Assesses current department needs and help desk inquiries and assigns personnel to resolve each issue.
    • When Help Desk Analysts are unable to successfully resolve a user’s issue, the Help Desk Supervisor will assess the situation and devise a solution to the problem, which could include escalation of the issue to another team within the IS Department.
    • Analyze the performance of Help Desk activities and documented resolutions, identify problem areas, and devise and deliver solutions to enhance the quality of service and to prevent future problems.
    • Will serve as a liaison between the Clinical and Technical teams of the IS department to assist in meeting the strategic objectives of CMC.
    • Provide exemplary customer service in all interactions.
    • Work effectively and collaboratively with colleagues, physicians, and department heads.
    • Effectively utilize strong organizational skills.
    • Consistently display effective verbal communication skills.  
    • Proficiency with Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, Explorer, and PowerPoint is required.
