Help Desk Support, Sr. responds to end-user requests for technical assistance by phone, email, or ticketing system. Troubleshoots and resolves basic computer, application, system, device, access, or performance issues. Being a Help Desk Support, Sr. uses established processes and procedures to document, track, and resolve reported problems and to meet operational service levels and standards. Utilizes product information or solution database to research, troubleshoot, and deliver solutions. Additionally, Help Desk Support, Sr. advises users on the methods, steps, and actions to resolve and avoid future issues and provides documentation as needed. Escalates problems to appropriate levels or teams to achieve issue resolution. May support installs or upgrades of software or devices, set up user profiles, or re-set passwords. Fulfills all service level standards for response time and quality. May require an associate degree. Typically reports to a supervisor. The Help Desk Support, Sr. works independently within established procedures associated with the specific job function. Has gained proficiency in multiple competencies relevant to the job.     The Trade Desk Network Operation, Network Engineers work closely with the Network Reliability Engineering Team, the Data Center Engineering team, and various SRE teams to provide operational support at scale for the network that runs globally distributed systems.

    ABOUT THE ROLE:

    • Support, troubleshoot, extend, and improve the network across physical datacenters and circuits, and multi-provider cloud environments.
    • Support thousands of hosts worldwide with petabyte-scale data challenges.
    • Participate in root-cause analysis and postmortem discussions to effectively drive long-term operational health improvements.
    • Analyze process gaps and implement solutions to speed up execution and reduce manual toil.
    • Participate in an on-call rotation.

    WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR:

    • Skills and Experience Strong understanding of TCP/IP and the OSI model.
    • Strong understanding of IP networks and the protocols needed to run large-scale networks.
    • Experience troubleshooting complex network issues.
    • Experience working in a DevOps environment, using network automation tools such as Ansible, Git and Python.
    • Experience contributing to monitoring and alerting systems.
    • Experience with cloud providers such as Amazon Web Services, Azure or Alibaba Cloud.
    • Experience working with network operating systems such as Cumulus Linux, SONiC, Cisco IOS and Junos.
    • Experience in or interest towards in platform engineering; daily usage of technologies such as Kubernetes and Docker, specifically around being able to plan and build infrastructure to support these types of applications and troubleshooting the networking components of them.
    • Must be open to working in a hybrid work model
