Histology Technologist jobs in New Hampshire

Description:

• Perform complex histological procedures using a variety of techniques such as grossing, staining, drying and freezing to preserve and test the samples.
• Prepare tissue specimens for routine and special procedures to obtain a patient diagnosis.
• Accessions and grosses tissue specimens.
• Process specimens including, but not limited to, embedding, cutting, staining, coverslipping and filing.
• Prepare slides of specimens using specified stain to enhance visibility under microscope.
• Trim tissue specimens into blocks and fix tissue info fixing solution or formalin.
• Examine/study slides under microscope to detect deviations from norm and report abnormalities which may require further study.
• Record and analyze data.
• Prepare media, chemicals, reagents and solutions.
• Preserve and store samples per established policies and procedures.
• Maintain, clean, and repair equipment and instruments as per established procedures and manufacturer’s instructions.
• Establish and monitor quality control programs and perform required quality control, maintenance, and quality assurance.

Additional Skills & Qualifications:

High school diploma or equivalent is required. Associate’s or Bachelor's Degree in science related field is preferred.

HT/L ASCP certification or completion of Histology Technician training course and eligible to sit for the exam is required. Certification required within 1 year of hire.
