Housekeeping Manager manages the daily operations of a housekeeping services department to ensure offices, patient/guest rooms, facilities and other specified areas are kept in a clean and orderly condition. Inspects facilities, recommends upgrades when needed. Being a Housekeeping Manager establishes workflows, standard procedures and quality control plans. Responsible for the maintenance of vendor/supplier relationship. Additionally, Housekeeping Manager may require a bachelor's degree or its equivalent. Typically reports to a head of a unit/department. The Housekeeping Manager manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets. Has full authority for personnel actions. To be a Housekeeping Manager typically requires 5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. 1 - 3 years supervisory experience may be required. The DoubleTree by Hilton Bristol is looking for housekeepers to join our housekeeping team. This position will mainly be weekends so candidates must be available Friday, Saturday and Sunday. We are open 365 days a year, so candidates must be able to work Holidays. This is a part time position with the potential of being full time in the future.
Duties include:
- Make beds in guest rooms.
- Replenish supplies such as drinking glasses, writing supplies and bathroom supplies in guest rooms.
- Clean rooms, hallways, lobbies, lounges, restrooms, corridors, elevators, stairways, and locker rooms and other work areas.
- Clean rugs, carpets, upholstered furniture and draperies.
- Dust furniture and equipment.
- Polish metalwork, such as fixtures and fittings.
- Wash walls, ceilings, woodwork, windows, door panels, and sills.
- Empty wastebaskets, and empties and clean ashtrays.
- Transport trash and waste to disposal area.
- Ability to perform repetitive actions consistently
- Commitment to delivering a high level of customer service
- Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds
- Flexibility to respond to a variety of work situations
- Ability to work on your own and as part of a team
