Director of Leased Housing Programs
Reports to: Executive Director
Responsibilities:
Under the direction of the Executive Director, the Director of Leased Housing has overall responsibility for the administration, implementation and monitoring of accounting systems and functions of our state and federal Leased Housing Programs.
The Director compiles, monitors, and analyzes reports and metrics to ensure compliance with federal and state regulations as well as maximization of housing assistance dollars. The Director will institute and maintain proper internal controls and audit procedures in accordance with best practices to protect and manage the authority's assets and ensure the integrity of the Authority's financial statements and position. Other duties and responsibilities include:
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
1. Ability to interpret complex regulations and statutes.
2. Ability to develop written procedures in a clear and concise format.
3. Ability to communicate, both orally and in writing, in a clear and concise manner.
4. Ability to recruit personnel, and supervise and evaluate in an objective manner all employees assigned to the department.
5. Ability to properly use and instruct others in the proper use of the Authority's computer systems relating to the department.
6. Necessary management skills to ensure the efficient operation of the department, including Human Resources.
7. Ability to analyze statistical data and determine trends an housing needs.
8. Ability to deal with people in a sensitive, confidential and effective manner.
Qualifications:
Experience in the housing industry or knowledge of housing programs and in the supervision of employees. A high school diploma is required, a bachelor's degree or Master’s Degree in a relevant field is preferred.
