Human Resources Director plans and oversees human resources functional operations, including talent acquisition, compensation, benefits, training, employee relations, safety, and compliance. Administers human resources programs and policies to reflect the organization's mission and values, support company goals, achieve objectives, and positively engage the workforce. Being a Human Resources Director maintains broad and current subject matter knowledge and expertise in federal and state employment laws to advise leadership with solutions for human resources issues and evolving organizational needs. Implements an HRIS or other system to facilitate processes and provide data and reporting on HR activity. Additionally, Human Resources Director requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to top management. The Human Resources Director manages a departmental sub-function within a broader departmental function. Creates functional strategies and specific objectives for the sub-function and develops budgets/policies/procedures to support the functional infrastructure. To be a Human Resources Director typically requires 5+ years of managerial experience. Deep knowledge of the managed sub-function and solid knowledge of the overall departmental function.   • POSITION SUMMARY: 

    The Human Resource Director will plan, lead, direct, develop, and coordinate the policies, activities, and staff of the Human Resource (HR) department, ensuring legal compliance and implementation of the organization’s mission and talent strategy. The HR Director will manage personnel and ensure that our HR programs and initiatives are effective, efficient, and aligned to overall business objectives in a fast- paced, acquisitive healthcare environment (dermatology). Multi-site healthcare and private equity experience a must.

     

    DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

    1. Collaborates with senior leadership to understand the organization’s goals and strategy related to staffing, recruiting, and retention in a fast paced, multi-state healthcare platform.
    2. Plans, leads, develops, coordinates, and implements policies, processes, training, initiatives, and surveys to support the organization’s human resource compliance and strategy needs.
    3. Identifies staffing and recruiting needs; develops and executes best practices for hiring and talent management.
    4. Conducts research and analysis of organizational trends including review of reports and metrics from the organization’s human resource information system (HRIS) or talent management system.
    5. Monitors and ensures the organization’s compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommended best practices; reviews and modifies policies and practices to maintain compliance.
    6. Maintains knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law; applies this knowledge to communicate changes in policy, practice, and resources to upper management.
    7. Facilitates professional development, training, and certification activities for HR staff.
    8. Performs other duties as required.


    DIRECTOR DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

    1. Build out a best in class HR department from the ground up, that promotes a positive work culture, collaboration and communication, technological efficiencies and the highest level of compliance in both the HR and healthcare industries. 
    2. Administers or oversees the administration of human resource programs including, but not limited to, compensation, benefits, and leave; disciplinary matters; disputes and investigations; performance and talent management; productivity, recognition, and morale; occupational health and safety; and training and development.
    3. Works closely with Business Development & Operations to diligence HR related materials and to integrate new acquisitions for smooth payroll, benefits and cultural transitions. 
    4. Ability to travel, as needed, to all locations in order to establish processes, programs and best practices, as well as audit workflows and support staff.

    8.  Breadth of understanding of healthcare systems and best practices

     

    EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

    1. Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field required, Master’s degree preferred.
    2. At least five years of human resource management experience in the healthcare field required (dermatology preferred).
    3.  Private equities experience
    4. SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP highly preferred.
