Brief Description
The Human Resources Generalist will oversee the day-to-day functions of the WV and/or CA office(s)Hum, reporting to the HR Director and in conjunction the HR team.
- Oversee the Performance Management Plan, documentation and associated reports.
- Assist HR Director with the efficient resolution of employee issues.
- Oversee the recruitment and selection of new hires; may attend job fairs and recruitment events.
- Recommend and develop employee relations initiatives to foster a positive culture.
- Plan onboarding strategies and perform new employee orientation to deliver an exceptional early experience.
- Maintain the work structure by updating job requirements and job descriptions for all positions according to HR and GreenPower's objectives.
- Coordinate training initiatives; arrange seminars, workshops, additional HR training and conferences based on each department’s needs; may conduct training.
- May provide HR metrics and other reports on a routine or as needed basis.
- Reinforce GreenPower's policies, rules, and procedures.
- Develop a document control system to maintain personnel and medical records.
- May coordinate employee satisfaction surveys and exit interviews, developing action plans to address issues.
- Establish process/tracking and oversee compliance with the federal FMLA and applicable state laws.
- Initiate and manage transactions through Paylocity; position will act as a backup to the Payroll Specialist.
- Assist with employee benefits, especially during annual open enrollment and orientation.
- Ensure legal compliance by monitoring and implementing applicable federal and state labor law requirements and conducting investigations.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- A minimum of 3 to 6 years performing HR generalist duties, preferably in a multi-state role.
- A minimum of a bachelor’s degree in addition to the experience stated above.
- Experience using Paylocity or other HRIS software to process transactions and run reports.
- Experience with payroll, benefits administration, performance management, recruitment and selection, policy development, conflict resolution and labor law compliance.
- Proven ability to complete work accurately and with attention to detail.
- Ability to work with flexibility, alone or as part of a team, on multiple tasks under tight deadlines.
- Strong and proven customer service and organizational skills.
- Must be available for overnight travel, for initial training and then when needed.
- Must be able to pass a preemployment drug screening.

- Ability to lift files, open filing cabinets and bend or stand as necessary.

Work Environment
This job operates in a professional office environment and routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets. Days and hours of work are typically Monday through Friday from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm, but requests for alternate schedules may be approved. At times it may be necessary to flex this schedule in order to meet the demands of offices in a different time zone.

Compensation and Benefits:
Compensation for this position will be in the range of $55,000 to $70,000 per year.
