Assists the Director, Benefit Services in the overall administration of the UAHSF and UAB Medicine Enterprise Benefits programs. Manages the day-to-day administration of employee benefits for UAHSF and UAB Medicine Enterprise. Provides guidance and assistance to employees on various benefit plans. Develops, recommends, and implements approved, new, or modified plans and employee benefit policies, and supervises administration of existing plans. Provides direct supervision of the Benefits staff. Ensures the Benefits staff have the tools necessary to perform their job duties. Develops cost control procedures to assure maximum coverage at the least possible cost to the UAHSF and UAB Medicine Enterprise and employees.
Position Requirements:
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
Required: Bachelor’s degree in Business, Human Resources Management, or related field and five years’ related experience required.
Preferred: Human Resource Management strongly preferred.
LICENSE, CERTIFICATION AND/OR REGISTRATION:
Required: None
Preferred: PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP, or SHRM-SCP
