The ideal candidate will be responsible for handling all networking support requests by telephone, email, or chat in a personable and friendly manner with clients. Stellar Customer Service is a top priority for our company and we strive to provide the best and most friendly service in the area.
As a member of our service team, you will need to be prepared to diagnose and troubleshoot service requests that our Help Desk has escalated, deploy and manage a small business network infrastructure, train other service team members, maintain all processes/procedure documentation, and act as a Project Lead on assignments.
The work environment is fast paced and demanding but provides a great opportunity for exposure to many leading technologies and the ability to promote to a Level 3 Technical Engineer.
This position reports directly to the Service Manager, and works closely with CEO, Level I/III Technicians, Service Administrator, Project Manager and Dispatch.
JOB DESCRIPTION & DUTIES OF THE JOB:
· Configuration and installation of switches, servers, firewalls, APs.
· Provide support to tickets escalated from Level 1.
· VoIP configurations, managing current VoIP clients.
· Provide support and management of various compliance requirements for clients i.e., SLED, PCI.
· Install desktop machines from scratch as in Level 1, but with full migration from older machine to new machine. To include back up set up and restoring of appropriate data stored locally.
· Configure VLAN ports on switches as required.
· Adding, removing, or editing firewall rules on gateway routers as required.
· Perform Windows Server installations from scratch – virtual or physical.
· Promoting servers to domain controllers, setting up DHCP, DNS, and file security setups with Active Directory.
· Management of DNS.
· Full on-boarding of digital communications (VoIP) processes.
· Strong knowledge of setting up servers on a virtual host environment with VMware or Hyper-V including knowledge of resourcing, allocating more disc space and RAM to appropriate serves.
· Strong skills in the Office 365 console from configuration point of view.
· Basic PowerShell scripting for issues not able to be resolved through GUI.
· Assist in Antivirus software installation and management.
· Assigned projects, work with project manager to complete tasks in a timely manner.
· Configure network shares with appropriate permissions, scan-to-folder, and email.
· On-site support should the need arise.
· Internal: be organized with work, inventory management, support tickets tracking and adding time and log of tickets completed.
SKILLS FOR THE JOB:
· Associate degree and/or 3-5 years’ experience in IT industry.
· Certifications (A *required*, MCP, Network , Security , Digi-com, Firewall).
· Project lead experience: ability to take on a project (assignments, onboarding, new installs), work with Project Manager, follow expectations and provide the best customer experience as possible.
· Speak to end users in non-technical terms (no geek speak).
· Prioritize daily tasks and achieve due dates.
· Ability to multi-task and adapt to changes quickly.
· Ability to take on-call after hours, after training period is over.
· Ability to lift standard computer equipment (i.e., PC’s and Printers).
· Reliable transportation.
· Maintaining a clean and organized office workspace.
· Handle workload independently.
