IT Capacity Planner evaluates the organization's data processing and storage needs and develops long-term plans to meet business requirements. Implements policies for network storage system troubleshooting, updating and general maintenance. Being an IT Capacity Planner documents problems and solutions and serves as the point of contact for network capacity related issues. Allocates storage space, plans for future projects or acquisitions, reviews hardware and software configurations and makes suggestions for appropriate storage or backup models. Additionally, IT Capacity Planner may require a bachelor's degree in area of specialty. Typically reports to a manager. To be an IT Capacity Planner typically requires 2 to 4 years of related experience. Gains exposure to some of the complex tasks within the job function.     We are looking for an experienced capacity planner to join IT Services on our journey towards building a world class IT organization. We are looking for someone who is passionate about the Customer Experience, who thinks/acts globally, and who has the ability to contribute to major new innovations in the industry to join us as Program Manager. They will experience a wide range of problem-solving situations, provide strategical and tactical capacity planning guidance, requiring extensive use of data collection and analysis. The ideal candidate is a leader with demonstrated ability to learn the IT business operation in order to apply new capacity planning methodologies, process mapping, process roll out and organization adherence to new processes. This opportunity requires excellent problem-solving, organizational, communication skills and a strong track record of delivering results. Cross-team collaboration, project management, and executive presentation skills are essential. A strong record of customer advocacy and influence without authority is important for this role.

    The successful candidate will work in lock-step with multiple business teams, IT leadership across Operations, Sourcing, Enterprise Engineering, Product / Development, as well as Finance teams. They will:


    * Build and implement capacity plans for hiring and staffing across IT Services that will allow organization to scale to customer demand in the coming years
    * Lead projects to define and align ITS teams to deliver on capacity plan
    * Identify/Implement capacity planning and management tools and technology enablers that will improve operating accuracy and efficiency
    * Collaborate with ITS leadership, Global Workforce Planning, Finance, Data Science, and local teams to maintain and update long-term staffing plans.
    * Communicate these plans and report on their execution to various stakeholders, and continuously improve the planning and execution cycle.
    * Lead Projects to improve planning efficiency and support worldwide network of business units.
    * Monitor performance by analyzing performance statistics and financial results; evaluating staffing schedules to match contact volumes; evaluating potential productivity, quality, and customer-service standards; identifying and resolving problems; determining system and process improvements.
    * Prepare management reporting by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing data and trends and developing recommendations.



    Key job responsibilities
    • Develop Long-term headcount and capacity-plans for IT-Services Organization.
    • Create best capacity plans and set staffing targets for our business by managing trade-offs between Customer Experience/Service Levels, Employee Experience, Operational Flexibility, and Cost Effectiveness.
    • Track/update outside service plan for ITS, clearly communicate dependencies and manage/track expectations.
    • Constantly review existing processes and innovate new ones for possible automation, improvements/enhancements.
    • Drives complex projects that improve efficiencies in HC planning and drive process changes to meet new product and market demands.
    • Analyze drivers of significant forecast misses to continuously improve forecasting. Collaborate with Key stakeholders to develop mechanisms for optimizing the HC demand and cost, with clear documentation.
    • Execution: Initiates the design, development, and implementation of analysis projects that optimize staffing, scheduling, shifts. Applies analytical principles/concepts to problems. Makes informed trade-offs to deliver results.
    • Results & Accountability: Ensures that. effective controls are developed and maintained across the organization.
    • Handle a high volume of data – Amazon is a complex space and data resolves that ambiguity. When things do go wrong (and they will), the candidate is happy to dive deep and get to the real detail so we can learn and benefit from our mistakes.



    A day in the life
    -Work individually on current gaps in capacity and headcount for the responsible functions and work with stakeholders to mitigate them
    -Work on excel or similar tools to analyze patterns in forecast, gaps in headcount measurement
    -Partner with Business team to standardize the Productivity and demand assumptions
    -Conduct and be present in critical meetings to drive stakeholders for delivering capacity solutions
    -Track/update outside services plan for ITS
    -Work on incumbent’s project roadmap items on a day-to-day basis
    -Ability to create a long-term hiring and reallocation plans for Fixed and variable headcount within IT-Services
    -Conduct deep-dive to improve Site strategy


    About the team
    Capacity Planning Team is responsible for the process of long-term strategic headcount planning that enables the IT-Service Business unit to scale in line with customer demand. The team will focus on creating hybrid organizational capacities that are flexible and scalable.
    Our internal customers are Vertical Leaders, Business teams, Operations, Workforce-Management, Finance, space-planning and recruiting-teams. We operate through planning cycles to deliver a) Strategic plans such as 3YP, OP1/OP2 plans to define long term investment and growth opportunities for business verticals b) Operational plans such as R&O, monthly staffing plans to enable hiring & staffing of our workforce across the network.

    BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

    - 5 years of program or project management experience
    - Experience using data and metrics to determine and drive improvements
    - Experience owning program strategy, end to end delivery, and communicating results to senior leadership
    - Experience working cross functionally with tech and non-tech teams
    - Knowledge of Excel at an intermediate level (e.g., pivot tables & charts, multiple criteria lookups, nested logical/IF formulas, data cleansing, array formulas, etc.)
    - Prior Capacity planning/ Headcount planning / Workflow Management experience

    PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

    - 2 years of driving process improvements experience
    - Master's degree, or MBA in business, operations, human resources, adult education, organizational development, instructional design or related field

    Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $92,500/year in our lowest geographic market up to $185,000/year in our highest geographic market.
