IT Capacity Planner, Sr. evaluates the organization's data processing and storage needs and develops long-term plans to meet business requirements. Implements policies for network storage system troubleshooting, updating and general maintenance. Being an IT Capacity Planner, Sr. documents problems and solutions and serves as the point of contact for network capacity related issues. Allocates storage space, plans for future projects or acquisitions, reviews hardware and software configurations and makes suggestions for appropriate storage or backup models. Additionally, IT Capacity Planner, Sr. may require a bachelor's degree in area of specialty. Typically reports to a manager. To be an IT Capacity Planner, Sr. typically requires 4 to 7 years of related experience. Contributes to moderately complex aspects of a project.     The Senior Planner is responsible for optimizing production schedules for complex production planning tasks and various product families to ensure production targets, such as on-time delivery, are achieved. This role involves coordinating with various teams, such as procurement, production, and quality assurance, to meet production targets, control inventory, and maintain product quality. In addition to production scheduling, material planning, and capacity management, the Senior Planner provides leadership and mentorship to junior planners. This role requires data analysis, process optimization, and risk management skills to further enhance operational efficiency and resource allocation.

    Responsibilities:

    • Production Scheduling: Develop and maintain production schedules to ensure efficient manufacturing operations based upon MRP, level loading, inventory strategy, lot sizing and others.
    • Material Planning: Coordinate with procurement to ensure the availability of raw materials and components needed for production.
    • Capacity Planning: Work with production supervisors to optimize production capacity to meet demand while minimizing overruns.
    • Work Order Management: Create and manage work orders for production tasks and monitor their progress.
    • Inventory Control: Keep track of inventory levels and manage inventory turnover rates.
    • Cost Optimization: Work on cost reduction strategies without compromising quality.
    • Collaboration: Communicate with various teams, such as procurement, production, and quality assurance, to ensure a smooth production process.
    • Strategic Planning: Determine inventory strategy in conjunction with Production leadership.
    • Compliance: Ensure all planning and purchasing practices are in compliance with company policies and appropriate state and federal laws.
    • Analysis: Analyze data, generate reports, and make recommendations as appropriate for the purchasing process and systems.
    • Complex Projects: Handle complex production planning projects and tasks.
    • Process Optimization: Develop and implement strategies for continuous process improvement.

    Job Requirements:

    • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field, such as supply chain management, industrial engineering, or business, or equivalent experience.
    • Three years of experience planning production schedules for an electronics manufacturer
    • Advanced knowledge of manufacturing planning and supply chain management.
    • Proven expertise in tracking and analyzing MRP variables (e.g., lead times, order policies and modifiers, BOMs, bills of operations, Kanban material flow and product manufacturing strategies)
    • Leadership and mentoring skills.
    • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
    • Demonstrated ability to effectively and efficiently level load plans and understand capacity analysis.
    • Proficiency in data analysis and modeling.
    • Proficiency in using manufacturing planning software and tools.
