IT Project Engineer is responsible for the completion of long-term IT engineering projects. Performs engineering design evaluations and works to complete projects within budget and scheduling restraints. Being an IT Project Engineer develops, implements, and monitors information systems policies and controls to ensure data accuracy, security, and regulatory compliance. Reviews reports of computer and peripheral equipment production, malfunction, and maintenance to determine and address problems. Additionally, IT Project Engineer requires a bachelor's degree. May require ongoing training in network/telecom seminars. Typically reports to a supervisor or manager. To be an IT Project Engineer typically requires 0-2 years of related experience. Job Summary- Performs clerical and tracking functions of projects and ensures that all project documents get disseminated to the appropriate users.
- Works side by side with managers, able to assist and support them with all project needs.
General Accountabilities- Helps project managers and OPMs assign tasks to all participants and updates the status of completed tasks in project logs.
- Research, compiles and prepares reports required by management.
- Handles work orders, creates new jobs in ComputerEase and tracks existing open work orders.
- Handles all aspects of the locating process through 811 for every job including new and expiring locates.
- Maintains on call calendar for the location that you report to.
- Updates and maintains daily logs.
- Fills in and helps to provide support to other PCs in their absence or if needed to assist in getting job duties accomplished.
- Provides assistance and support to managers.
- Handles tracking and sending in office supply order list when supplies are needed.
- May assist AP in tracking down missing receipts.
- Inputs daily time sheet info from field crews
- Will be responsible for assisting in research of damage claims.
- Responsible for sending sub information to AP to have POs created for new jobs.
- Provides assistance to AP with invoicing issues from subs.
- Assist AP/AR with adding additional codes to jobs as needed for invoicing.
- Understands the job costing of the project.
- Help keep the office straightened up and clean.
- Organizes and maintains files and reports.
- The company reserves the right to add or change duties at any time.
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent
- Experience: 1-3 years of office experience
- Must be efficient in Microsoft Word, Excel
- Must be organized, honest, have a positive attitude and great communication skills.
