IT Project Engineer is responsible for the completion of long-term IT engineering projects. Performs engineering design evaluations and works to complete projects within budget and scheduling restraints. Being an IT Project Engineer develops, implements, and monitors information systems policies and controls to ensure data accuracy, security, and regulatory compliance. Reviews reports of computer and peripheral equipment production, malfunction, and maintenance to determine and address problems. Additionally, IT Project Engineer requires a bachelor's degree. May require ongoing training in network/telecom seminars. Typically reports to a supervisor or manager. To be an IT Project Engineer typically requires 0-2 years of related experience. Facilitate the definition of project missions, goals, tasks, and resource requirements.
-Resolve or assist in the resolution of conflicts within and between projects or functional areas
-Develop methods to monitor project or progress; and provide corrective supervision if necessary.
-Responsibility for assembling a work plan for project team to prepare their technical or functional design, development and testing.
-Work with 3rd party vendors if needed and coordinate between internal and external resources.
-Keep project system of record up to date with latest status of project, milestones, risks and issues.
-Leverage MS Teams to manage and file project artifacts, and maintain meeting agendas and minutes.
-Proficient in MS Project, Excel and Word, PowerPoint and MS Project.
-Ability to lead and control meetings with numerous participants.
-Evaluates alternatives and finds solutions using a systematic, multi-step approach.
-Consults and provides advice, facilitates discussion and resolves conflict; establishes trust; builds and uses cross-functional relationships to accomplish work objectives.
Past project management success, both in results achieved and in use of project methodology and tools.
-Pro-active in developing and implementing strategies that significantly mitigate risk.
-Ability to drive project team to think out of the box to identify and develop innovative solutions and solve problems.
-Recognizes problems or situations that are new or without clear precedent.
-Excellent communications skills with ability to deliver complex ideas/thoughts into simple, memorable terms that colleagues, leaders can easily interpret.
