Performs engineering design evaluations and works to complete projects within budget and scheduling restraints. Being an IT Project Engineer develops, implements, and monitors information systems policies and controls to ensure data accuracy, security, and regulatory compliance. Reviews reports of computer and peripheral equipment production, malfunction, and maintenance to determine and address problems. Additionally, IT Project Engineer requires a bachelor's degree. May require ongoing training in network/telecom seminars. Typically reports to a supervisor or manager. To be an IT Project Engineer typically requires 0-2 years of related experience.     As an IT Project Manager, you’ll work on the systems that provide vital information, fiscal services and policy support to all state agencies, higher education, the Legislature and the governor. You will lead efforts to keep these important systems and applications operational along with efforts to build new functionality to improve the effectiveness and efficiency of those systems and applications.     Duties

    What you’ll do:


    • Lead, plan, and control multiple projects and sub-projects for the implementation of an Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) application for OFM.
    • Provide leadership, consultation and oversight to the project team members and stakeholders through the duration of the project.
    • Be responsible for all aspects of the project over the entire project life.
    • Manage change, risk, and quality management processes throughout the lifecycle of the projects.
    • Coach and mentor waterfall, hybrid, and agile teams to ensure projects deliver the desired outcomes and benefits.
    • Perform application contract management, working with contract specialists during RFQQ, RFP, and Procurement processes.
    • Develop all the required project documentation including but not limited to plans to manage the project integration, scope, schedule, cost, quality, resources, communications, risk, procurement, change and stakeholders.
    • Conduct project closeout activities such as lessons learned, post-implementation report, transition plans, documentation clean-up, resource release, etc.
    • Manage matrixed resources provided by multiple divisions and agencies.
    • Communicate key project information (i.e. issues, risks, changes, accomplishments) to stakeholders.
    • Collaborate with OFM PMO Team to create, review, implement, and update project templates, tools, processes, and standards.

    Qualifications

    Required Qualifications:

    • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, public administration, business management, project management, or related field (additional related professional experience may substitute for the educational requirement on a year-for-year basis).
    • Four years’ of experience successfully managing information technology projects.
    Note: Education and experience can substitute for each other on a year-to-year basis.
    • Three years' experience in and demonstrated understanding of the project domain, sufficient to review activities and tasks with domain experts and verify estimated levels of effort.
    • Skill at managing interpersonal relations to build rapport inside and outside the immediate project team and can motivate through leadership.
    Desired Qualifications:
    • Project Management Professional Certification or formal Project Management coursework such as UW PM certification or similar training (minimum of 72 hours of project management education or training).
    • Scrum Master Certification and 5 years’ experience working in an Agile environment.
    • PROSCI or similar certification in Organizational Change Management.
