IT Infrastructure Engineer

  • Summary: Responsible for maintaining and enhancing Banterra's system infrastructure to include design, organization and modification. Maintain servers, virtualization platforms, load balancing, networking and storage systems. Manage and optimize systems for maximum efficiency and reliability.
    Responsibilities: include but are not limited to the following. Other duties may be assigned.
    • Infrastructure design and implementation to include firewall and network management and storage management (SAS, NAS, SAN).
    • Virtualization and containerization administration (e.g., VMWare ESXi, Proxmox, Kubernetes and Docker).
    • Infrastructure automation systems (e.g., Ansible, PDQ, SCCM).
    • Server administration to include Windows Server 2016/2019/2022 and Linux Server.
    • Document infrastructure configurations and processes.
    • Work collaboratively with various IT, development, project, and security team members.
    • Design, configure and recommend various IT-related tools such as patch management systems, software deployment systems, monitoring systems, etc.
    • Develop and update business continuity and disaster recovery protocols.
    • Stay current with system information, changes and updates including IT trends.
    • Ensure proper documentation and logging of the various systems.
    • Meet with people in user departments to discuss problems with input/output and review processing changes.
    • Troubleshoot problems reported by users, analyze and isolate issues.
    • Work with the Bank's security staff to help secure the server and workstation infrastructure.
    • Manage various new and existing technology projects.
    • Assist other IT staff by providing technical knowledge and experience, recommend possible solutions and courses of action, insight, and general help to aid them when needed. Provide training and support to internal team members.
    • Serve as a back-up to IT System Administrators.

    Education/Experience:
    • Bachelor's degree in computer science required or six years of increasingly responsible experience in IT, networking, or related field.
    • CompTIA Server certification or equivalent is required.
    • Experience with Microsoft servers, VMWare, and Veeam backup solutions required.
    • Experience with Linux Systems required.
    • Experience with scripting (e.g., python and PowerShell) required.

    • Strong customer service orientation and attention to detail.
    • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
    • Ability to think critically and use good, sound judgment in decision making.
    • Ability to respond to common inquiries or complains from regulatory agencies, outside auditors and accountants, Board of Directors or other members of management.
    • Ability to write routine correspondence and communicate effectively and tactfully, orally and in writing with employees, customers, vendors and management.
    • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions.
    • Must understand and comply with company policies and procedures.
    • Ability to deal with several abstract or concrete variables simultaneously.
    • Ability to oversee goals and projects and ensure they are completed in a timely manner.
    • Ability to maintain a friendly, helpful and courteous attitude when working with customers or co-workers under diverse conditions.
    • Ability to accurately and quickly complete standard mathematical calculations.
    • Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios and proportions to practical situations.
    • Ability to solve problems and deal with a variety of situations.
    • Ability to project future results or consequences from different alternatives or variables.
    • Ability to use a variety of internet browsers and Microsoft Office programs, specifically Word, Outlook and Excel.
    • Possession of a valid driver's license.
