IT Vendor Relationship Director designs and implements the organization's strategic technology vendor management program to meet company needs and comply with required quality standards. Selects providers and oversees procurement of IT products and services to monitor and maintain operational costs and budgets. Being an IT Vendor Relationship Director administers the request for proposals process to vet the reputation and quality of vendor products. Negotiates service level agreements to ensure performance/quality metrics, responsibilities, expectations, and penalties are clearly defined. Additionally, IT Vendor Relationship Director works closely with managers and teams to monitor, maintain, and improve existing vendor relationships. Conducts regular business reviews to ensure compliance with company expectations, review issues, and develop solutions. May require experience with software licensing and hardware procurement. Requires a bachelor's degree in a technical discipline. Typically reports to top management. The IT Vendor Relationship Director typically manages through subordinate managers and professionals in larger groups of moderate complexity. Provides input to strategic decisions that affect the functional area of responsibility. May give input into developing the budget. To be an IT Vendor Relationship Director typically requires 3+ years of managerial experience.   • Duties

    Provide direct-to-customer technical support for university information technology and audiovisual technology systems ranging from desktop computers and phones to video teleconference (VTC) technologies.

    Responsible for monitoring and maintaining information technology (IT) and classroom audiovisual (AV) systems, to include upgrade and replacement projects.

    Provide user credentials, PKI certificates, authentication tokens, etc.

    Accomplish complex IT projects or programs that may include ill-defined requirements, ambiguity, parallel tasks, multiple dependencies, high risks, and multiple interfaces; ensure alignment with strategic or corporate objectives; define and review of customer and stakeholder requirements; follow plans and schedules throughout the life of the project.

    Communicate project plans and schedules based on a clear understanding of customer requirements and information on project cost, schedule, quality, and performance; estimate costs and resources; implement budget activities and cost estimates for future projects.

    • Must be able to obtain and maintain a Top Secret security clearance based on an SBI with eligibility for sensitive compartmented information (SCI)

    • A two-year trial period is required for all new permanent appointments to the ODNI.

    Qualifications

    Experience supporting and maintaining information technology (IT) and audiovisual (AV) systems.

    Ability to balance responsibilities among project activities; ability to manage transitions effectively from task to task, adapting to varying customer needs.

    Interpersonal, organizational, and problem-solving skills, including ability to work effectively both independently and in a team or collaborative environment and to lead and mentor junior colleagues.

    Ability to listen to, clarify, and convey understanding of others' ideas, comments, and questions as well as to integrate and build upon diverse opinions in a manner that encourages the formation of integrated solutions and positions.

    Ability to develop or implement information systems security plans and procedures.

    Ability to quickly identify and apply new technologies, methodologies, and technical languages.

    Ability to obtain required DoD 8570 IT certifications within the first 6 months of employment.

    B.S. Degree or equivalent IT experience with IT Certifications

    Desired Requirement:

    Thorough knowledge of multiple IT or AV disciplines/specialties (hardware, software, and networks).

    Possess DoD 8570 IAT Level 2 Certification (ex. CompTIA Security ).

    Possess Microsoft 365 and Azure experience or certifications.

    Web development experience (SharePoint, WordPress, etc…).

    Experience supporting educational student information systems and learning management systems.

    Experience programming and writing scripts to automate tasks.

    Education

    Bachelor's Degree.

    Salary Determination:

    The ODNI uses a rank-in-person system in which rank is attached to GS employees on the basis of individual qualifications, experience, and performance.
    Individuals whose current GS grade is equivalent to the grade of the advertised position will retain their current grade and step.
    Individuals who transfer to the ODNI from a non-GS pay scale will have base pay converted to the appropriate GS grade and step as determined by the Director/ Human Resource Management.

    On occasional instances when a current federal civilian employee applies for an ODNI position that is a lower grade than his or her personal grade, the candidate's personal grade will be downgraded to the grade of the advertised ODNI position and pay will be set at the step that is closest to but not less than the employee's current annual base rate of pay, not to exceed the maximum rate (i.e., step 10) of the GS grade to which assigned.

    Relocation Expenses: For new ODNI employees, reimbursement for relocation is discretionary based on availability of funds.
