IT Vendor Relationship Director designs and implements the organization's strategic technology vendor management program to meet company needs and comply with required quality standards. Selects providers and oversees procurement of IT products and services to monitor and maintain operational costs and budgets. Being an IT Vendor Relationship Director administers the request for proposals process to vet the reputation and quality of vendor products. Negotiates service level agreements to ensure performance/quality metrics, responsibilities, expectations, and penalties are clearly defined. Additionally, IT Vendor Relationship Director works closely with managers and teams to monitor, maintain, and improve existing vendor relationships. Conducts regular business reviews to ensure compliance with company expectations, review issues, and develop solutions. May require experience with software licensing and hardware procurement. Requires a bachelor's degree in a technical discipline. Typically reports to top management. The IT Vendor Relationship Director typically manages through subordinate managers and professionals in larger groups of moderate complexity. Provides input to strategic decisions that affect the functional area of responsibility. May give input into developing the budget. To be an IT Vendor Relationship Director typically requires 3+ years of managerial experience.     Description

    Job Summary:

    The Information and Technology (IT) Director is responsible for managing the IT Department, including staffing, planning, development, maintenance, and operation of all GLCAC, Inc. computer and telecommunication systems, website, intranet, software applications, local area, and wide area, and cloud networks, data security, and inventory management. 

    Essential Functions/Key Responsibilities:

     

    The IT Director is responsible for:

    • Maintaining the integrity and continual operation of the agency’s computer and telecommunication systems as well as local area and wide area networks.
    • Devising and establishing IT policies and systems to support the implementation of strategies set by upper management.
    • Analyzing the programs’ activities to determine their technology needs.
    • Providing day-to-day staff supervision, conducting performance appraisals, and delegating work assignments related to the IT Department Help desk and technology projects.
    • Maintaining security and privacy of the information systems, communication lines, and equipment.
    • Ensuring that the backup systems are in place to protect critical data.
    • Serving as the technical contact for the agency website, intranet, and board website.
    • Identifying the need for upgrades, configurations, or new systems and reporting to upper management
    • Serving as primary contact for ordering, acquisition, inventory, and disposal of computer, networking, and telecommunication hardware and software.
    • Maintaining a 5-year computer and technology systems replacement inventory.
    • Providing technical support for the installation and upgrade of data collection systems required by the Department of Housing and Community Development (DHCD) and keeping abreast of DHCD’s requirements for IT systems and information.
    • Serving as a resource person for programs in the use of software applications to increase confidence and productivity.
    • Building relationships with vendors and creating cost-efficient contracts
    • Ensuring that policies and procedures for data management and protection are in place and actualized.
    • Other as required by the position.

    Skills & Qualifications:

    • BS/BA in computer science, engineering, or relevant field and a minimum of five years of experience; MS/MA with a minimum of 3 years of experience preferred
    • Proven experience as IT Director or similar role
    • Experience in analysis, implementation, and evaluation of IT systems and their specifications
    • Expertise in managing the following software:  Microsoft Office 365, Entra, Exchange, Windows Server, Active Directory, Microsoft SharePoint, Hyper V.
    • Experience in managing database applications and systems.
    • Sound understanding of computer systems (hardware/software), LANs, WANs, wireless networks, VPNs, Firewalls, etc.
    • Experience in managinginformation technology budget
    • Excellent organizational and leadership skills
    • Outstanding communication abilities
    • Must have a suitable CORI and SORI completed within the first thirty (30) days of employment
    • Ability to work effectively with and meet the needs of people from a diverse range of backgrounds, cultures, and identities, including underserved communities and people from the different racial groups, socioeconomic statuses, nationalities, and languages that make up GLCAC’s clientele, to support the agency’s mission of building a more diverse, equitable and inclusive organization for employees and clients alike.

    Physical Demands: This job regularly requires the employee to sit, walk, and stand as well as use hands repetitively to handle or operate standard office equipment. The employee is occasionally required to kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.

    Work Environment: This job operates in a professional office environment and uses standard office equipment, such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets, fax machines.
