What You’ll Do
The Jr Export/Import Coordinator ensures the upmost quality of services delivered by promoting and supporting a culture of continuous learning at GLC Inc. The Jr. Export/Import Coordinator must be able to successfully communicate with a variety of local and international clientele and vendors, with diplomacy and discretion.
This position isn't just your standard 9-5 gig. It's a chance to jump headfirst into the trade industry and discover something new every day. This role is a great opportunity for recent graduates or new graduates with a degree in Supply Chain or Business Management.
Duties and Responsibilities:
· Responsible for quoting, booking, contacting shippers, arranging recovery, providing dock receipts, familiarization with export US Customs/AES processes, and sending pre-alert notifications
· Source rates with trucking companies
· Dispatch trucks and issue Delivery Orders.
· Find trucker alternatives if original option is not available.
· Secure and dispatch truckers accordingly.
· Promote the use of GLC warehouses and trucks.
· Get Arrival notice and check for Arrival notice for charges and IT, Firms.
· Update Import Declaration.
· Create Arrival notice if needed and ATME.
· Issue final Delivery Order with Firms code.
· Process Vendor payment request.
· Follow up pickup and delivery with the trucker.
· Pay port demurrage if it occurs.
· Obtain Proof of Deliveries.
· Track empty returns.
· Promote GLC Inc. by taking each shipment as an opportunity to learn more about the importer, their manufacturers, and customers, while presenting our services for any of their future shipping needs.
· Performs other related duties as assigned by management.
Successful Candidates Must Demonstrate the Following Abilities:
· Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, International Business, Ecomonics or a relevant field.
· No experience required!
· Effective communication skills with team members, customers, and vendors.
· Dedication to outstanding customer service through communication and information management.
· Ability to maintain a positive attitude under a stressful environment.
· Strong organizational skills.
· Must be capable of problem solving.
