Understand the luxury fashion marker, including trends, consumer preferences
Colorist
· Prepare Seasonal Color Stories
· Present to Elie
· Present all color standards to be sent to mills
· Make color comments and approvals for bulk
· Research original artwork with print studios
· Present original prints to Elie for purchase
· Arrange and approve print repeats
· Pitch colors in prints when recoloring
· Prepare strike-off requests
· Do print placement for production
Fabrics
· Conduct all textiles research at N.Y. Textile Shows and Agents offices
· Request headers for review with Elie
· Sample fabrics with Cathy and indicate Factory destination
Yarns
· Conduct all yarn research for knitwear
· Request yarn cards for review with Elie
· Arrange sample yarn LBS with Knitwear factories
Trims-Button and Braids
· Conduct research with vendors and present to Elie
· Choose all trims for production in conjunction with Elie
Design
· Design all woven and knitwear
· Present research and sketches for Elie to review
· Assign #’s to all chosen styles and create style library
· Prepare tech packs with sketch, measurements and fabric information and factory. Provide to Cathy’s Department for shipping and receiving
· Notify factories of developments being sent
· Create and maintain line plans and update with fabric information and style information as collection evolves
· Track estimated delivery dates from factories of protos they are developing
When protos are received in Millburn:
· Review protos with Elie and Decide which styles to proceed with
· Pass protos and tech racks to production technical designers for measuring prior to fitting
Fitting
· Schedule fitting-typically a 2-hour fitting. Once a week at Elie’s apartment
· Rotate fitting of garments based on delivery cycle
· Meet weekly with production Technical Designers to oversee status of all styles
· Any daily questions from the Technical Designers as they do not have a Head Production Person
· Answer daily questions from factories concerning protos and production
Review bulk as Abed submits 1 piece each of every style group
· If there are any production/quality fit issues, advise factories with photos and details. Advise Abed and Susan of possible solutions and charge backs if necessary
