As the Senior Process Technology Engineer, you will provide process engineering and technical support to the production facilities in the Specialty Coatings and Materials (SCM) business in the U.S. and the Netherlands. You will lead and implement process technology improvements and work closely with production staff (operators and engineers) to ensure and facilitate “best practice” application as well as guide “best technology” selection decisions for SCM manufacturing globally. You will work onsite in Lake Charles, LA and reports to a Global Process Technology Manager.Main Responsibilities:
Collaborate with global SCM plant engineering (process/capital/reliability)
to assist with improvement ideas and project implementation
Act as a “technical expert” for production/process engineering and operations personnel
Assist in year-over-year capital budget planning, forecasting and 5 year plan
Work with commercial team to ensure that short- and long-term projects align with business goals and path forward
Participate in modernization and digitization efforts for global SCM business
Understand energy requirements and uses across global SCM manufacturing sites to participate in sustainability improvement efforts
Partner with production and shipping at global sites to improve Equipment Availability / Reliability for Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE).
Develop and lead experimental processes and runs with both R&D/Pilot Plant as well as production sites for both new products and improvements to existing products
Develop and present data, recommendations, and improvement plans to local and business leadership teams
Drive continuous improvement by developing and tracking metrics and mitigation strategies with sites.
Qualifications:
B.S. Engineering (Chemical/Process concentration preferred but not required)
Have 3 years’ experience in site manufacturing/operations,
process engineering; capital project knowledge beneficial but not required
Have experience in Lean/Six Sigma methodologies
Experience working with and leading teams preferred
Experience in project planning and execution preferred
Experience in budgeting process preferred
Ability to travel domestically and internationally as needed
