Supports the Chief Inclusion Officer in the design and execution of agency-wide programmatic assessments to measure the agency strategic vision of advancing the health equity of all South Carolinians. This can include conducting research, gathering data, analyzing findings, or assisting in the development of assessment methodologies.
Leads the collection, analysis, and presentation of data for programs employing statistical or epidemiological methodologies to uncover patterns and trends.
Engages with stakeholders to lead data initiatives such as identifying health equity metrics collected by internal programs, task forces, working groups, and interagency activities related to research and planning, foster collaboration and communication across the agency. Maintain relationships with data-rich program areas to bring health equity and inclusion forefront of their work, such as State Health Improvement, Health Equity Data Action Team, and the Office of Data Governance and Modernization Initiative.
Provides impact analysis and recommendations on policy, programmatic efforts, and planning information based on data-driven insights.
Manages the HE&I's data oversight, research, and planning efforts with leadership support, coordinating efforts internally and externally to achieve equitable and inclusive goals.
Collaborates with team members to directionally communicate, develop, and implement training and capacity building initiatives to enhance staff understanding and engagement in health equity and inclusion effort. Other duties as assigned.
State Minimum Requirements: A bachelor's degree and supervisory or managerial experience in a planning, research or statistical setting.
Institutions of Higher Learning must be recognized by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation.
A master's degree in Epidemiology, Statistics, Public Health or other related public health fields. At least three years (3) of experience analyzing and/or managing data and statistics.
DRIVING RECORD: If this position requires the applicant to possess a valid driver’s license to operate a state vehicle or personal vehicle, any applicant being considered in the final stages of selection for the position will be required to provide a certified copy of a 10-year driving record.
