Instructional Technology Specialist supports faculty members utilizing information technology in support of teaching and learning. Develops computer training materials and assists in teaching how to set up and use computer applications and related technologies. Being an Instructional Technology Specialist may troubleshoot technical problems and train junior staff members. Typically requires a bachelor's degree. Additionally, Instructional Technology Specialist typically reports to a manager. The Instructional Technology Specialist gains exposure to some of the complex tasks within the job function. The Instructional Technology Instructor will orient students to technology tools used in the job of Para Educator in the local public schools. Paraprofessional Educators work with teachers and other school staff to provide instructional assistance, classroom support, and implement effective classroom strategies to meet the needs of all students.
The instructional focus will include modules with Digital Literacy using both the Microsoft Office and Google suites along with training to prepare students to work with technology commonly used in the classroom environment. The instructor will provide face-to-face instruction using web based learning tools and instructor led projects. Instructors will follow the course syllabus (pacing guide) and unit plans using the Google Classroom and other Learning Management Systems.

Work Schedule: Current class schedule is 10 week sessions (Monday through Thursday, evenings typically between 5:30 and 9:00 PM) in line with the Workforce Development academic calendar, available funding, and need of the department. Individual schedule to be determined with the supervisor including evening meetings from 4:00 to 6:00 PM at least once a month on campus.
