Instructor - Drama teaches courses in the discipline area of drama. Develops and designs curriculum plans to foster student learning, stimulate class discussions, and ensures student engagement. Being an Instructor - Drama provides tutoring and academic counseling to students, maintains classes related records, and assesses student coursework. Collaborates and supports colleagues regarding research interests and co-curricular activities. Additionally, Instructor - Drama typically reports to a department head. General Statement of Duties:
Theatre at the Mount is currently seeking qualified instructors/directors for our Broadway Bound summer program. The successful candidates will be responsible for directing, music directing, and choreographing a "theatre for young audiences" production, using a conservatory approach to teaching acting, music, and dance. The instructors will be responsible for implementing the curriculum and learning experiences in acting, music, and dance for students in grade two through high school. Under the Senior Director, instructors will oversee all production and technical elements, including lighting, set design, props and sound, ensuring the highest production values. Instructors/directors will provide students with a safe environment to nurture age-appropriate social and emotional skills in a summer program setting and will also mentor and oversee volunteer teen counselors in the program.
