Develops and designs curriculum plans to foster student learning, stimulate class discussions, and ensures student engagement. Being an Instructor - Educational Assessment provides tutoring and academic counseling to students, maintains classes related records, and assesses student coursework. Collaborates and supports colleagues regarding research interests and co-curricular activities. Additionally, Instructor - Educational Assessment typically reports to a department head. Has a Master's degree or is a PhD candidate in the applicable field. Has experience and is qualified to teach at undergraduate level and possesses the qualifications to participate in research. Educational Testing Consultants, Inc. is seeking contract instructors to teach SAT preparation classes to be held in partnership with the University of North Carolina at Charlotte. Successful candidates will possess proof of exceptional scores on standardized tests, previous teaching or public speaking experience, and a willingness to work weekdays in the summer as well as weekends in the fall and spring. Bachelor’s degree is required.Class sessions cover both math and verbal skills and are presented using PowerPoint modules in conjunction with associated textbooks and study aids. The PowerPoint course materials have been created by experienced test preparation instructors and former test item writers, so no curriculum development will be required with the position.Contract instructors are typically offered 3-5 courses per year, with each course consisting of 16 face-to-face hours of classroom instruction.
