Being an Instructor - History provides tutoring and academic counseling to students, maintains classes related records, and assesses student coursework. Collaborates and supports colleagues regarding research interests and co-curricular activities. Additionally, Instructor - History typically reports to a department head. Has a Master's degree or is a PhD candidate in the applicable field. Has experience and is qualified to teach at undergraduate level and possesses the qualifications to participate in research. Position Purpose |
Applications are sought for adjunct instructors of History to teach HIS 191, 192, 201, and/or 202 in the Fall and Spring semesters. Courses may be taught on campus and/or at dual enrollment sites in area high schools. These courses are options for the fulfillment of the History component of Cumberland University's General Education Core, and in the History major. These survey courses should provide students with a rigorous introduction to major historical themes, as well as to college-level writing, thinking, and analysis. |
