Instructor - Music jobs in Connecticut
Instructor - Music teaches courses in the discipline area of music. Develops and designs curriculum plans to foster student learning, stimulate class discussions, and ensures student engagement. Being an Instructor - Music provides tutoring and academic counseling to students, maintains classes related records, and assesses student coursework. Collaborates and supports colleagues regarding research interests and co-curricular activities. Additionally, Instructor - Music typically reports to a department head. Has a Master's degree or is a PhD candidate in the applicable field. Has experience and is qualified to teach at undergraduate level and possesses the qualifications to participate in research. We are seeking a Piano Instructor to join our team! As a piano instructor, you will be teaching private one-on-one instruction in our Southington studios. The ideal candidate will have experience working with and teaching students, excellent communication skills, and a knack for developing young talent.
Responsibilities
- Choose activities, lessons, and musical pieces based on the skillset and available students
- Properly assess the skills of each student under your care, and work with each student to develop their individual skills
- Stay up to date with trends in both teaching and the music industry
- Attend staff meetings, as needed
- Arrive 5 minutes early each day to be briefed on the current roster of students
- Previous experience teaching music preferred
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong organizational skills
- Excellent leadership and time management skills
- Reliable transportation
