Sailing Instructor
Great Island is seeking applications for the 2022 summer season. Our sailing fleet consists of Optimists, 420's and Lasers. The program runs from Late-June to Early-September.
Looking for experienced sailors to instruct a small group of grade school students in the techniques of sailing. We are mainly a recreational program but have entered several regattas (Opti Green and 420).
Instructors will also be expected to oversee the care and maintenance of our fleet and depending on our staffing, some off-water camp activities.
Anyone with an interest in working 20 – 40 hours a week is encouraged to reach out to us for more information.
o US Sailing Level 1 preferred
o Experience with power boats
Seasonal Full-Time Job (6/26/23 - 9/8/23)
Monday - Friday 9:00 am to 3:00 pm (lunch provided daily except Tuesdays)
Based on experience:
Senior Instructor (500 - 900/week) candidate should ideally have at least Level 1 certification and be 20 years of age
Instructor ($16/hr - 500/week) - ideally 18
Private Residential Beach Club with a Tennis and Sailing Program serving 6 lunches and 1 dinner a week
