Instructor - Sociology teaches courses in the discipline area of sociology. Develops and designs curriculum plans to foster student learning, stimulate class discussions, and ensures student engagement. Being an Instructor - Sociology provides tutoring and academic counseling to students, maintains classes related records, and assesses student coursework. Collaborates and supports colleagues regarding research interests and co-curricular activities. Additionally, Instructor - Sociology typically reports to a department head. Has a Master's degree or is a PhD candidate in the applicable field. Has experience and is qualified to teach at undergraduate level and possesses the qualifications to participate in research.   • General Summary of Position:

    The Department of Sociology at the University of Massachusetts Lowell seeks a part-time Adjunct Instructor to teach one section of Race and Ethnicity starting September 6, 2023, and also to develop a pool of applicants for openings as they arise.

    The ideal candidate will enhance the student's learning experience by integrating a variety of methods and strategies into the teaching process and maintaining a student learning-centered environment. The University of Massachusetts Lowell is committed to increasing diversity in its faculty, staff, and student populations, as well as curriculum and support programs, while promoting an inclusive environment.

    Minimum Qualifications (Required):

    • M.A. degree or above in Sociology
