Position Summary:
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Special Education Paraprofessional to join our team. As a Special Education Paraprofessional, you will work closely with students who have special needs, providing support and assistance in the classroom. Your role will be crucial in helping students succeed academically and socially.
Paraprofessional/Instructional Assistant to support students with multiple impairments, including students with complex medical needs. For some students, complex medical issues require frequent care from qualified personnel. Nursing services and therapies are integrated into the classroom with the emphasis on teaming with classroom staff to meet the objectives of each student’s Individualized Education Plan.
Paraprofessionals assist professional staff with all aspects of program management including classroom, student support and provision of therapy services.
Specific Duties: Work with a classroom teacher in an academic support role. Collaborate with professional staff to ensure the safety of the students in all environments. Instructional Assistants may be required to assist students with toileting and diapering. This position also requires assistance with mealtimes, hygiene including changing, and physically assisting students in the classroom (positioning students, assisting with orthotics, etc.). Modify materials based on student needs. Participate in training in relevant areas.

Qualifications: Experience working with students with Special Needs strongly preferred.
Education/Training/Experience: Prior experience working in a school setting preferred.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required; associate's degree or higher in a related field preferred
- Completion of a paraprofessional training program or certification is desirable
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- Patience, empathy, and a genuine desire to help students succeed
