Interior Aircraft Assembly Supervisor supervises interior fabrication of aircraft including mechanics, the fitting of sub-assemblies to the aircraft, and final aircraft interior production. Ensures compliance with all engineering, FAA, and customer regulations and specifications. Being an Interior Aircraft Assembly Supervisor requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to Interior Aircraft Assembly Manager. Makes day-to-day decisions within or for a group/small department. Has some authority for personnel actions. The Interior Aircraft Assembly Supervisor supervises a group of primarily para-professional level staffs. May also be a level above a supervisor within high volume administrative/ production environments. To be an Interior Aircraft Assembly Supervisor typically requires 3-5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor.     OPPORTUNITY SNAPSHOT:
    Under the direction of the Cell Leader/Dept. Supervisor, the Assembly associate 2 assists in the day-to-day manufacturing activities to ensure the production of the highest quality products at the lowest possible cost, meeting company standards for performance, customer specifications and delivery requirements, in accordance with company policies and procedures. This is a hands-on position.
    Assembly Cell Associates perform varied duties in a team-based cellular environment ensuring the production of the highest quality products at the lowest possible cost, while working to achieve or improve budgeted assembly minutes per chair or unit.

    A DAY IN THE LIFE:
    E9 (ERP system) responsibilities:
    • System operations/ information Access
      • Daily labor reporting
      • Enter material transactions
    • Build, Box and Wrap chairs by using automatic wrapping machine.
    • Assemble breakfast carts.
    • Assemble MFSC parts and hardware kits.
    • Assemble faucets; requires cutting faucet part to fit.
    • Sort faucet product
    • Box faucet assemblies
    • Ability to mentor a new associate and help them feel welcome.
    • Check Material requirements on Job Traveler against part description & part number for accuracy.
    • Demonstrated ability to operate hand tools in a safe and effective manner including cordless drills, pneumatic drills, miter saw, skill saw, utility knife.
    • Assemble products with use of varied power and hand tools.
    • Participate on cross-functional or departmental teams to ensure the continuous, on-going improvement of processes, methods, productivity and quality, while reducing costs & assembly minutes.
    • Complete special projects as assigned.
    • Assist with the training of new and present employees in the processes and methods required to achieve the organization’s standards for quality, quantity, and safety, consistent with the organization’s principles.
    • Ensure the completion of all required paperwork.
    • Ensure compliance with all safety and work rules and regulations. Ensure the maintenance of departmental housekeeping standards. Actively participate in 6S Program.
    • Participate in Lean Program
    • Demonstrated ability to think independently, work independently and use available information to make timely decisions.

    PROTECTIVE CLOTHING/EQUIPMENT REQUIRED
    : Requires the use of safety glasses and steel toe shoes. Hearing protection is available upon request.

    WHAT YOU NEED TO SUCCEED:

    • Requires High School Diploma or Equivalent; previous experience in a manufacturing environment and assembly cell work experience preferred; previous exposure/use of ERP & MRP operating systems helpful.
    • LANGUAGE SKILLS: Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, Work instructions, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to communicate effectively with other employees of the organization.
    • MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra.
    • REASONING ABILITY: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
    • CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS: Requires the ability to obtain a forklift operator's license.
    • OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES: Requires the ability to operate a variety of standard business machines, such as a computer and the job-related software, a keyboard, calculator, telephone, photocopier, etc. Also requires the ability to operate a forklift truck as well as a variety of power, air and hand tools, shrink wrapper.
    • PHYSICAL DEMANDS: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to sit, stand, walk, reach with hands and arms, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must be able to lift 50 lbs. to 100 lbs. This is occasionally required with mechanical assistance or co-worker assistance. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
