Job Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Controller to join our team. As a Controller, you will be responsible for overseeing all financial activities of the company and ensuring compliance with accounting principles and regulations. This is a key leadership role that requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to effectively communicate financial information to stakeholders.
Duties:
- Manage all aspects of the company's financial operations, including accounts payable/receivable, payroll, budgeting, and financial reporting
- Develop and implement financial policies, procedures, and internal controls
- Prepare accurate and timely financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements
- Conduct regular account analysis to identify variances and discrepancies
- Collaborate with department heads to develop budgets and forecasts
- Monitor cash flow and manage banking relationships
- Ensure compliance with accounting standards and regulations (IFRS)
- Oversee the preparation of tax returns and coordinate with external auditors
- Provide financial analysis and recommendations to support strategic decision-making
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA certification preferred
- 10 years of progressive experience in accounting and finance roles, with at least 5 years in a supervisory or managerial capacity
- Strong knowledge of GAAP accounting principles and financial reporting standards; familiarity with IFRS a plus
- Advanced proficiency in QuickBooks Online (QBO), CF Data Structure, Great Plains Dynamics, and other financial management software including Excel; experience with ERP systems preferred
- Proficiency in financial analysis, budgeting, and forecasting techniques
- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and manage multiple priorities
