    International Sales Manager

     

    The International Sales Manager is the primary contact between Benchmade Oregon and our distributor and retail partners outside the US. This person will help create and implement the strategy to expand Benchmade’s distribution and brand position in international markets.  This position’s primary role is to strategically develop and profitably grow Benchmade’s International sales to meet revenue targets outlined in annual budget planning. Additional key responsibilities include analyzing market, product, and competitive trends; and managing and motivating the sales efforts of our external distributor and dealer partners.  Primary duties will include domestic, international travel to trade show/events, oversee all key International customers as well as prospecting directly with channel partners through focused promotion of Benchmade products.

    Responsibilities

    • Participate in Sales departmental strategic planning & continuous improvement processes.
    • Forecast sales, create, manage, and execute applicable sales goals on a monthly, quarterly, and yearly basis.
    • Develop and continuously manage the international sales plan and expenses to meet budget.
    • Build a strategy with Marketing and DTC managers to define best practices entering new markets and regions.
    • Strategically develop and grow Benchmade’s product penetration within select international key accounts.
    • Work with Demand planning team to build a ground up forecast by customer and SKU including “new dealer” goals in priority markets.
    • Assist Product Development team in the development of new products relative to their potential applications within the marketplace.
    • Report on competitive product capabilities and developments. Research and communicate new product to be developed specific to the market.
    • Analyze international sales trends and react to specific sales patterns set by allocations and funding, including understanding acquisition and procurement cycles.
    • Develop, maintain, and sustain relationships with key customers and buyers in the Law Enforcement markets and Fed/Gov entities as appropriate.
    • Represent Benchmade at various trade shows and attend functions supporting all customers.
    • Train all entities on the primary differences between Benchmade and the competition; provide field maintenance and/or technical assistance as required.
    • Effectively use all automated sales tools & resources available.
    • Formulates and sets policies and objectives for the organization’s sales activities outside the USA.
    • Work with dealer services team to ensure highest standard OTIF service and communication to customers.

    Qualifications

    • A Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration or other related degree, and 7-8 years of international sales experience is required. 5 years of Marketing, Sales Management, and Product Management experience also required. Equivalency to the qualification standard will also be considered.
    • Excellent organization and communication skills.
    • A strong Microsoft Office skills.
    • CRM software experience in lead gen and full funnel reporting.
    • Excellent written and verbal skills.
    • Excellent presentation skills.
    • Willing and able to travel up to 50% of the time.
