International Trade Specialist is responsible for coordinating credit and financial activities and obtaining payments for import/export operations. Acts as an advisor on matters of tariffs, markets, and federal and foreign regulations. Being an International Trade Specialist ensures that all filings, documents, and regulatory reporting are completed accurately, in a timely manner, and according to trade laws. Keeps informed of international events and changes to laws and requirements that may impact operations. Additionally, International Trade Specialist may negotiate letters of credit or handle issues with international banks. May require a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a manager or head of a unit/department. The International Trade Specialist gains exposure to some of the complex tasks within the job function.     Position Purpose & Summary

    PSA BDP is looking for a driven professional that will be responsible for processing rate requests for ocean exports from North America. The candidate must demonstrate familiarity with basic shipping policies and procedures.  The candidate will support the development, implementation, and execution of the regional pricing strategies while optimizing revenue contribution and market growth.   

    Responsibilities:

    • Negotiate service contracts with different carriers to obtain competitive ocean, land, and consolidation rates.
    • Respond to spot quotation requests and implement tariffs utilizing internal rate platform
    • Communicate with customers and sales/operations staff to resolve pricing issues, make recommendations, and implement corrective action.
    • Work with Product leadership team to develop pricing strategies.
    • Become a subject matter expert on specified tradelane (ie.carrier service portfolios, contractual terms, free time, Hazmat restrictions, equipment, etc..). 
    • Build and maintain strong positive relationships with carriers to determine optimal pricing to better meet customer’s business requirements.
