Interventional Radiological Technologist assists physicians in interventional procedures and provides diagnostic aid by conducting organ or body scans on patients. Administers and records isotope dosage in accordance with established departmental protocol. Being an Interventional Radiological Technologist observes patient during procedure and reports abnormal activity. Typically requires a bachelor's degree, at least 2 years of experience in radiology and registration with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT). Additionally, Interventional Radiological Technologist typically reports to a chief technologist or manager. Interventional Radiological Technologist's years of experience requirement may be unspecified. Certification and/or licensing in the position's specialty is the main requirement.     Utilizes radiologic equipment with proper techniques and procedures to obtain appropriate radiological images as directed by the physician under the guidance of a Registered Technologist.

    THIS POSITION IS PART-TIME, 20 HOURS PER WEEK.

    • Instructs patients appropriately on radiological procedure
    • Maintains images in our electronic system
    • Maintains and cleans examination rooms and equipment and work area
    • Regular and predictable attendance
    • Ability to work in a cooperative manner with others
    • Performs other related duties as assigned 

    SKILLS & ABILITIES

    Education:                              Must be enrolled in an approved JRCERT accredited Radiology Program and completed 1 year of     coursework.

     

    Experience:                           Must be currently enrolled in your Radiology Tech program.

     

    Computer Skills:                   Must be computer literate. Basic computer skills required.

    Certifications & Licenses:   Must be registered as a student in an accredited Radiology Technology Program pursuing an ARRT certification and license in Tennessee or Mississippi (depending on the work location). Must be an active student on target to complete the program on time and able to sit for the national exam administered through ARRT after graduation.
