Administers and records isotope dosage in accordance with established departmental protocol. Being an Interventional Radiological Technologist observes patient during procedure and reports abnormal activity. Typically requires a bachelor's degree, at least 2 years of experience in radiology and registration with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT). Additionally, Interventional Radiological Technologist typically reports to a chief technologist or manager. Job Description
The Radiologic/IR Technologist is actively involved in the patient procedural environment. They are charged to provide the optimum imaging results while applying all reasonable efforts to avoid unnecessary radiation exposure. IR techs under the general supervision of a radiologist the technologist is responsible for managing a safe imaging procedure, establishing, and maintaining a sterile space and positioning the patient.
As a practice with multiple locations, staff will be assigned to a location based on patient volume and need for coverage.
