Principal Strategic Investment Specialist

  • About this role:

    Wells Fargo is seeking a Principal Strategic Investment Specialist.

    This role is responsible for networking internally and externally in order to provide access to long-term capital, in the form of equity and/or debt, to business customers and prospects of the bank. Individuals work provide creative financing solutions that help fund our bank's client's/prospect's growth and other capital needs.


    In this role, you will:

    • Provide value added advice and enhance strategic dialogue with key clients and top prospects of the bank
    • Oversee the evaluation, structuring, and ongoing performance of investments
    • Provide vision, leadership, and industry expertise regarding large-scale Strategic Investment Management strategies that significantly influence the organization's business and financial operations
    • Serve as the highest-level originator and relationship manager on the deal team, handling relationships with the most complex portfolio companies and other parties and investors
    • Strategically lead all levels of professionals and managers across the enterprise; serve as an expert advisor to leadership
    • Review and recommend deal structures for all new investments prior to presentation to the investment committee
    • Facilitate collaboration with other divisions and internal stakeholders
    • Participate on a portfolio company board of directors as assigned
    • Provide vision, leadership, and industry experience to portfolio companies’ management
    • Coordinate with network contacts to determine opportunities for business development


    Required Qualifications:

    • 10 years of experience in Strategic Investment Management, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education


    Desired Qualifications:

    • Experience financing companies within the healthcare industry is preferred
    • 10 years work experience in one or a combination of: commercial banking, corporate banking, private equity, or investment banking
    • Familiarity with evaluating and executing transactions related to private equity, venture capital, or credit related transactions
    • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills. Strong integrity, work ethic, and a team player. High level of initiative and accountability
    • Ability to work independently or in teams and thrive in a fast paced, loosely-structured, entrepreneurial environment


    Job Expectations:

    • Ability to travel to different client markets 65% of the time
