Jig and Fixture Builder assembles a variety of standard and non-standard major jigs, fixtures and related tooling. Ensures jigs function appropriately with complex angles or contours. Being a Jig and Fixture Builder is responsible for determining methods and sequence of operations and scheduling work to be performed from tool design drawings. Designs and creates jig and fixture details and holding devices. Additionally, Jig and Fixture Builder may be required to verify accuracy and quality in accordance with established control procedures. Requires a high school diploma in a related area with certification in the field. Typically reports to a supervisor or manager. The Jig and Fixture Builder works independently within established procedures associated with the specific job function. Has gained proficiency in multiple competencies relevant to the job. Job summary : Frame Builders work either individually or as a team to assemble the wooden frames for sofas, loveseats, and chairs.
This job requires manual dexterity, fine motor skills, and attention to detail to meet high quality standards. Summary of essential job functions : Assembles wood frames for sofas, loveseats, and chairs using pneumatic staple guns Positions precut frame parts and glues, staples, or screws them together to fabricate furniture frame, using pneumatic staple gun and glue applicator Trims and smooths edges of frame, nails, screws, bolts, and glues precut frame parts and attaches legs, arms, and back pieces using pneumatic staple gun Nails, screws, or bolts plywood or other material to frame May cut wood parts, according to specifications, using power tools May attach hardware to wooden furniture frame May be designated according to part or pieces assembled as Arm Builder, Back Builder, or Center Frame / Floor Frame Builder.
Other duties to be performed as directed by supervisor(s) Additional Requirements : Must have good hand-eye coordination Ability to use pneumatic power tools (such as staple guns) to assemble frame parts Must be able to work in a dusty environment Must perform job with safety as top priority Must be able to bend and lift frame parts throughout shift Must be able to stand on feet for entire shift (8 10 hours per day) Ability to show up to work on-time, every day, and take direction from supervisor(s) in a fast-paced environment Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs repetitively on a daily basis previous furniture frame building experience highly preferred.
