    As a Survey Instrument Person, you will be responsible for operating a range of conventional surveying equipment, including Total Stations, Levels, Data Collectors, and more. Working closely with the Project Manager, Project Surveyor, or Survey Technician III, you will execute specific field-related assignments using prescribed methods. Your keen attention to detail and adherence to standard practices and techniques will enable you to collect accurate data, maintain proper notes, and recognize discrepancies in results. Additionally, you will play a vital role in maintaining the organization and cleanliness of survey equipment, equipment rooms, and survey vehicles. Your ability to communicate effectively and collaborate with team members will contribute to the success of our projects.

    **Compensation ranges from $17-22/hr. depending on experience**


    Responsibilities of the Survey Instrument Person include:

    • Operating a variety of conventional surveying equipment, such as Total Stations, Levels, Data Collectors, and other tools as required.
    • Executing specific field-related assignments under the guidance of the Project Manager, Project Surveyor, or Survey Technician III.
    • Applying standard practices and techniques to collect data, maintain detailed notes, identify discrepancies, and follow established processes.
    • Ensuring the organization and cleanliness of survey equipment, equipment rooms, and survey vehicles.
    • Reporting the status of supplies that may be running low to the project supervisor.
    • Collaborating with the supervisor or Survey Technician III on non-routine work, including the selection of techniques and procedures.
    • Receiving supervision on new aspects of assignments to enhance professional growth and development.

    Requirements of the Survey Instrument Person include:

    • Possessing an Associate’s degree in engineering or surveying from an ABET-accredited curriculum or having five years of related experience.
    • Successfully completing a comprehensive drug screening and background check, including a 7-year criminal history check and Motor Vehicle Record check.
    • Holding a valid driver's license.
    • Demonstrating the ability to travel extensively to field project sites.
    • Exhibiting motor coordination and finger dexterity for tasks such as keyboarding and machine operation.
    • Being capable of exerting physical effort in handling objects weighing up to 50 pounds frequently.
    • Comfortably navigating difficult terrain during fieldwork.
