SALARY: $41,600.00 Annually
JOB SUMMARY: Assist in an effective nutrition services program following all OHS, and CACFP guidelines. Ensures that all aspects of the kitchen meet all regulations for SHARE Head Start and all Federal and State standards. Supervises and evaluates nutrition staff, (cooks). Enters data into a data management system to track the provision of nutritional services and needed follow-up. Assist in training, monitoring, supervision, and performance evaluations of nutrition staff (cooks). Acts as a substitute cook providing meal service in centers when cooks are absent or when there is a vacancy. Schedules and coordinates meal deliveries to centers without kitchens. Maintains accurate, up-to-date record-keeping.
QUALIFICATIONS: High School Diploma or GED (SERV Safe certified or obtained within the 90-day introductory period). At least three years of cooking experience with Head Start. Must be flexible, well organized, and autonomous with excellent time management, problem-solving, and analytical skills. Must be knowledgeable of US Food Service. Excellent written and verbal communication skills including managing computer database systems required. A valid S.C. Driver’s license and acceptable driving record are required. Must be able to lift 55 lbs., stoop, kneel, and move about without limitations. Must be willing to travel overnight to acquire training, additional skills, and knowledge to enhance the nutrition services area.
