    Job Description
    Under the direction of the Board of Review, Department of Labor reviews and analyzes Appeal Tribunal decisions to ensure
    correct statutes, regulations, precedent court cases under the jurisdiction of the Board of Review. Makes recommendations the
    Board's Members, prepares written decisions, takes testimony as required, and acts as a hearing officer under the Private Plan
    provisions of the Temporary Disability Benefits Law; does related work as required.

    Open to employees of the State of New Jersey who are permanent in any competitive title and meet the requirements listed below:

    EDUCATION: Graduation from an accredited college or university with a bachelor's degree.

    EXPERIENCE: Four (4) years of professional experience in complex and varied appeals work which has involved responsibility for
    conducting hearings, for interpreting, weighting and evaluation evidence, and for drawing conclusions and issuing findings of fact which serve
    as the basis for final administrative action, in public employment security programs such as unemployment and temporary disability insurance.

    NOTE: Applicants who do not possess the required education may substitute additional experience as indicated above on a year for year basis.

    NOTE: Admission to practice as an Attorney-at-Law in New Jersey or graduation from an accredited law school with a J.D. or L.L.B. degree
    may be substituted for one year of the required experience.
